II. Attachement

April, Friday 11th 2025
What is attachment, if not the heart that loves continuously between a departure and an arrival, a separation and a reunion, the enduring bond of two souls forever intertwined?

Some of you have read my books and know that I am a great lover.
Now, you take pleasure in reading me through my silk drawings, often created in collaboration with my friend Laurence Kiberlain… I’ll come back to this.
This particular print, “Attachment,” is not one of those collaborations.
I created it alone.
This print raises the question: Where are you going?
Gives an imperative: Forget me not.
Expresses a wish: To join you.
And holds hope: Come back soon.
It reflects the certainty of meeting again someday, some moment, some night.
I love this print.
One must remain faithful to what one loves, to whom one deeply loves.
One must reread Les Deux Pigeons by Jean de La Fontaine…

You will often rediscover this print in different colors, single or two-toned, as an expression of my deep attachment, my commitment, resembling a golden ring offered and kept, precious like a cherry pit exchanged in a kiss…
Attachment is the secret of love in all its forms, its most tender colors, its strongest bonds—definitively solid.
